Course Content

This programme is designed for those who want to learn how to develop dynamic, database-driven websites like Facebook, JAMB Online, etc. Participants in this course will be imparted with a working knowledge of PHP and MySQL - the most popular pair of scripting language/database server on the Web. Participants are expected to have some knowledge of front-end technologies like HTML and CSS.

 

At the end of the programme, participants will be able to:

 

• Develop dynamic, interactive, database-driven websites using PHP and MySQL.
• Create contact forms.
• Create membership systems with sign up, login, reset password etc.
• Develop file upload scripts to upload pictures, videos, pdf's, mp3's etc.
• Develop mailing systems, newsletter scripts and mass mailers.
• Create an Online Registration System with a database back-end.
• Create an Online Result Checker.
• Create a dynamic news page.
• Create simple Content Management Systems.
• Create database search scripts.
• Create a restricted access web page(using secret PIN to gain access).
• Import, export, back up databases(with video lessons).
• Encrypt passwords in database for security.
• Generate random code/pins automatically.

Assessment

At the end of the training, there will be a little written test and a live web-based project by the student to be assessed before a certificate is awarded.
